Newbie preacher Karl Upton (Brian K. Washington) finds it hard to keep the faith when he sees despair in the Maryland town where he's found his calling. As head of the venerable Evenside Church, a long-standing institution in the community, Karl has promised to reach out to the area's disenfranchised residents, but politics and long-buried secrets have made his mission nearly impossible. Can he find the miracle he needs to chase away his doubts?
