Before she was the Partridge matriarch, Shirley Jones played mom to another brood: In this breezy romantic comedy, she stars as Amy Martin, a young widow with three sons who finds herself the target of a Navy investigation -- and of a handsome commander's (Gig Young) affections. Edgar Buchanan, Red Buttons and Carolyn Jones add to the merriment in director George Sidney's Golden Globe-nominated romp.
