A Trick of Light

  (1995)
Die Gebruder Skladanowsky
Begun as a project for the students of Wim Wenders's Munich, Germany, film school class, A Trick of Light serves as a centennial tribute to motion picture pioneers the Skladanowsky brothers, who invented one of the first movie projectors. Using antique silent-film gear to shoot much of the movie, Wenders blends docudrama, fictional reenactment and experimental photography to create a compelling portrait of these cinematic groundbreakers.
