The American Film Institute presents its list of top 50 stars -- as determined by critics, filmmakers and historians. AFI's list includes Buster Keaton, Katharine Hepburn, Orson Welles, Mae West, James Stewart, Barbara Stanwyck, Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner and Marlon Brando, among others.
