This animated series follows the adventures of Akari, a young apprentice gondolier in the winding canals of Neo-Venezia, a city on the planet Aqua, formerly known as Mars but now, in the 24th century, a water-rich terraformed world. As she slowly works her way up in the Aria canal-guide company, she befriends and faces challenges with her teacher, fellow apprentices and various inhabitants of Aqua.
