Santhanam (Rajnikanth) has worked to support his family since the death of his father. He has sacrificed much, including the woman he loved, to put his three siblings through college. He marries Lakshmi (Jayalakshmi) for her money, only to find that his ungrateful family has forgotten him now that they're successful.
