After the tragic death of his best friend, Daya Shankar (Amrish Puri) adopts that friend's son, Amar (Saif Ali Khan). Amar is secretly in love with Daya's daughter Pooja (Madhuri Dixit), but when he proposes to her, she confesses her love for pilot Vijay (Akshay Kumar). Amar agrees to help her find happiness, but bizarre twists threaten to destroy any hope of that. This drama by Lawrence D'Souza features a haunting score by music director Karuna.
