When dedicated and decorated cop Dempsey Cain (Christopher Reeve) falls prey to a drug dealer's bullet and is paralyzed for life, his brother (Joe Mantegna) and wife (Kim Cattrall) begin fooling around -- prompting an enraged Cain to devise a plan to get rid of the pair for good. A $1 million insurance policy further fuels Cain's suspicions and fury, which ultimately explode in a vengeful -- and mysterious -- crime where everyone is a suspect.
