Accent on the Off Beat

  (2006)
Shot in cinema verité style, this film charts the conflict-prone creative process behind the production of "Jazz (Six Syncopated Movements)," a ballet composed by Grammy-winning trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and choreographed by Peter Martins of the New York City Ballet. As they work to unite two media that have little in common, the creators discover sharp differences when it comes to background, artistic approach, temperament and style.
