According to Matthieu

After his father gets axed from his factory job for smoking a cigarette in the workplace, Matthieu (Benoît Magimel) becomes infuriated because no one will stand up for his dad. When a car hits and kills the depressed family patriarch, Matthieu assumes the death was suicide and seeks revenge by seducing the plant owner's spouse (Nathalie Baye). But the plan backfires, producing devastating results in this sobering French drama.
