Suspense and intrigue abound in this film noir double bill that follows the stories of a World War II veteran whose past catches up with him and a dead prostitute whose remains wash up on a Cape Cod beach. In Act of Violence, veteran Frank Enley (Van Heflin) is stalked by a vengeful former comrade (Robert Ryan). In Mystery Street, a detective (Ricardo Montalban) and a forensic expert (Bruce Bennett) team up to nab a working girl's killer.
