Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece comes to the screen in the first opera filmed in color. Sophia Loren stars in the title role as an Egyptian slave girl loved by a commander who must choose between her and his allegiance to the pharaoh. Lois Maxwell and Luciano Della Marra co-star, with Renata Tebaldi, Ebe Stignani and Giuseppe Campora providing the singing voices for the principal characters.
