In danger of being evicted from a local hostel due to suspicions regarding her profession, a "working girl" (played by Leela Mishra) persuades a handsome stranger (Rajendra Kumar) to pretend to be her husband in this romantic comedy. As the pair jumps through countless hoops to keep up their facade, their fake marriage gives way to some real feelings, and they find themselves falling in love.
