When author Betty Fisher (Sandrine Kiberlain) becomes despondent after her 4-year-old son's death, her unstable mother (Nicole Garcia) abducts another little boy, Jose, as a replacement. Although the kidnapping incenses Betty at first, her maternal instincts soon begin to take over. Meanwhile, Jose's disreputable mother (Mathilde Seigner) and her shifty friends set out to find the boy in this offbeat gem deftly helmed by Claude Miller.
