When her archaeologist father (Richard Haines) goes missing, shy waitress Wanda (former supermodel Kathy Ireland) journeys to Africa to find him -- and, in the process, discovers the underground world of Atlantis, whose inhabitants view surface-dwelling people as a myth. While Wanda searches for her dad, she must dodge the Atlantis police, who see her as an alien threat in this slick update of Jules Verne's A Journey to the Center of the Earth.
