Italian bombshell Gina "Lollo" Lollobrigida stars in this 1950s crime drama as a widow who takes over her dead husband's smuggling ring and finds love with his partner, Giovanni (Amedeo Nazzari). Director Giorgio Pastina's noirish melodrama of conflicting loyalties in post-World War II Italy was one of Lollobrigida's first starring roles -- and she's uniformly stunning, displaying oodles of star quality that would inform her future roles.
