After marrying his high school girlfriend, Shoko (Tae Kimura), quiet shoe-repair shop manager Kanao (Lily Franky) takes a more lucrative job as a courtroom sketch artist. Soon, he's exposed to the shadowy side of Japan, as depicted in his courtroom drawings. When a tragedy pushes Shoko into a deep depression, Kanao's home life becomes increasingly painful. Ryosuke Hashiguchi directs this poignant drama.
