The First Rebel
In pre-Revolutionary War Pennsylvania, when the British refuse to staunch the weapons supply by unscrupulous trader Ralph Callendar (Brian Donlevy), James Smith (John Wayne) and his band of settlers disguise themselves as Indians and take matters into their own hands. Wayne's Stagecoach co-star, Claire Trevor, plays Smith's love interest, Janie MacDougall. William A. Seiter ("My Favorite Husband") directs.
