When her warm and successful husband dies suddenly, Alice (Jennifer Ehle) watches her idyllic world begin to fall apart. She decides to move on with her life and remarries, which greatly upsets her son Jack (Mark Wells) and creates tension within her family. When everyone reunites years later to celebrate Jack's 21st birthday, the young man decides to share his true feelings about all of them -- especially his stepfather.
