Amarillo Slim
(2006)|
This time it's the life of legendary poker player Amarillo Slim (Nicolas Cage) that director Milos Forman -- "the king of biopics" -- is focusing his lens on. The result is an in-depth portrait of the larger-than-life gambler famous for his card skills (he won the World Series of Poker in 1972), his $2 million wager with Larry Flynt and his wild propositional bets (including using an iron skillet to play ping-pong with tennis pro Bobby Riggs).
