Director Jonathan Brandeis's documentary follows the trajectory of the Bellydance Superstars & the Desert Roses, the first-ever touring group (brought together by producer Miles Copeland) devoted to performing the exotic dance. Featuring no less than belly-dancing superstars Amar Gamal, Ansuya and Kaeshi Chai, the film is an unflinching look at Copeland's attempts to train the klieg lights on a little-known art form.
