In this romantic comedy, competition knows no bounds when it comes to the pursuit of love. At the Cannes Film Festival (where sections of the movie were filmed), filmmaker Hal Raymond (Keith Carradine) meets alluring Maria Barone (Monica Vitti), whom he discovers is the wife of movie producer Federico Barone (Raf Vallone). But that doesn't stop him from seducing her. Is this a case of true love, or professional jealousy gone awry?
