Based on the writings of novelist P.D. James, this British mystery series centers on the charismatic Cordelia Gray (Helen Baxendale), a young detective who reluctantly takes over her mentor's investigation agency after his suicide. Aided by longtime agency assistant Edith Sparshott (Annette Crosbie), Cordelia quickly acclimates to the seedy environs of the criminal underworld and proves herself to be one effective gumshoe.
