Events from the past haunt a newlywed couple in this atmospheric horror film from England. In the 1800s, Henry Fengriffen (Herbert Lom) chops off a stable boy's hand after the lad tries to prevent the nobleman from raping a girl. When Fengriffen's contemporary descendant (Ian Ogilvy) brings his new bride (Stephanie Beacham) to his ancestral estate, the two are terrorized by the ruthless spirit of the wronged servant -- and by his severed hand.
