A spendthrift widower (Shammi Kapoor) falls in love with a woman (Hema Malini) who had secretly married her lover (Rajesh Khanna) but became a widow soon after. Her dead husband's villainous, womanizing younger brother (Roopesh Kumar) makes life difficult for her. When he rapes a hill woman and she commits suicide, however, his nastiness is at last exposed, and the two brothers' doting mother (Achla Sachdev) finally sees the light.
