Returning to Prince Edward Island as a middle-aged writer, Anne Shirley (Barbara Hershey) discovers a secret that forces her to revisit old memories of her difficult young life before arriving at the Green Gables farmhouse. Both a prequel and a sequel to the beloved Anne of Green Gables books and films, this touching drama co-stars Hannah Endicott-Douglas as young Anne and Shirley MacLaine as the wealthy matriarch who cared for Anne early in life.
