When Texas Ranger Rip Metcalf's (Kris Kristofferson) friend and fellow Ranger Jack Parsons (Rip Torn) is accused of murder, Metcalf, his con man pal, Billy Roy Barker (Willie Nelson), and lovely FBI agent Susan Davis (Joan Severance) set out to find the truth. But the trail gets twisty when they discover that not everybody they trust is a straight shooter. Bill Bixby directs this entertaining made-for-television Western.
