Kitty Darling (Helen Morgan) is a burlesque entertainer who's beginning to worry that her lifestyle will have a negative effect on her daughter, April (Joan Peers), so she decides to send April off to a convent. When April grows up, she reenters her mother's life, and the two must try to salvage their relationship -- but they soon realize it won't be that easy.
