Ten groundbreaking directors were given a free hand in this omnibus film. Their only requirement: Each short film had to be based on an operatic aria. By turns dreamlike, funny, moving and erotic, the segments range wildly in tone, texture and setting. The directors include Robert Altman, Jean-Luc Godard, Ken Russell and Charles Sturridge. The actors include Bridget Fonda in her film debut and Elizabeth Hurley.
