Though wary at first, the residents of a small 19th-century Texas town soon warm to the benevolent alien who has touched down in their midst. But when a local newshound (Carol Bagdasarian) senses a big scoop, it could spell trouble for the friendly extraterrestrial. Crazy-eyed character actor Jack Elam plays the old codger who gives shelter to the transplanted spaceman (played by child actor Mickey Hays).
