Based on director Barry Levinson's memories of life with his immigrant grandparents, this nostalgic story (which represents the final installment in Levinson's "Baltimore Trilogy") was nominated for four Oscars. Sam Krichinsky (Armin Mueller-Stahl) comes to America in 1914 and marries Eva (Joan Plowright); years later, this multigenerational Jewish family faces a culture clash amidst its own personal struggles and triumphs.
