With two kids and no job in South Central Los Angeles, 20-year-old Jody (Tyrese Gibson) struggles to deal with poverty, violence and his increasing responsibilities -- and his mother and her new man (Ving Rhames) want him to move out on his own. That's complicated by efforts to juggle the troubles of his best friend (Omar Gooding) and new ex-con rival (Snoop Dogg). Director John Singleton returns to the seetting of his debut hit, Boyz N the Hood.
