This sharply designed social tragedy speaks about the unjust battle between powerful landlords and migrant workers and shows how despair can ruin one's relationships and self-esteem. Filiberto returns to his hometown in Mexico after working for 3 years in the United States. In his struggle to gain recognition, he's vanquished by ambition; now, he must deal with rejection, betrayal and displacement and somehow regain his identity.
