After a public humiliation, successful TV newsman Chuck Darling (Kelsey Grammer) returns to Pittsburgh, where he must team up once again with his former co-anchor Kelly Carr (Patricia Heaton). Back in the 1990s, they shared plenty of on-screen chemistry … and off-screen animosity. Refereeing their catty reunion is overworked news director Ryan Church (Josh Gad). Fred Willard, Ty Burrell and Laura Marano also co-star.
