Unable to deal with their problems, troubled Vietnam veteran Donny McAndrew (Jeff Fahey) and his wife, Mara (Karen Allen), turn to a mysterious stranger in this tense thriller. Mara escapes from the increasingly unhappy marriage through a love affair with Jake (Dean Paul Martin), though she doesn't want to leave her wealthy husband -- or his money. But when the enigmatic Reed (Keith Carradine) appears, their lives change in some unexpected ways.
