Director James Rasin's debut film documents the fascinating yet tragically short life of Candy Darling, the transsexual actress who came to prominence in the 1970s as a member of Andy Warhol's Warhol Superstars. Following her performances in Warhol's films Flesh and Women in Revolt, Darling leapt to stardom within the New York art scene, appearing in a variety of stage and film productions, including Tennessee Williams's "Small Craft Warnings."
