Legendary Italian maestro Claudio Abbado gives three of composer Ludwig van Beethoven's finest works the royal treatment in this February 2001 concert recorded at Rome's renowned Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Abbado conducts the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra performing bracing renditions of Symphony no. 6 in F Major, op. 68; Symphony no. 1 in C Major, op. 21; and Symphony no. 8 in F Major, op. 93.
