Behold a Pale Horse

  (1964)
Based on a novel by Emeric Pressburger, this well-crafted 1964 classic chronicles the story of Manuel Artiguez (Gregory Peck), an aging Spanish Civil War guerilla who continues to wage a one-man battle even though the conflict ended 20 years earlier. But when he tries to visit his hospitalized and dying mother (Mildred Dunnock), a vindictive police chief (Anthony Quinn) sets a trap for Artiguez. Omar Sharif plays a priest facing a moral quandary.
