Belphegor: Phantom of the Louvre

Archeologists examining an Egyptian sarcophagus in the Louvre accidentally unleash the long-trapped demon Belphegor, who takes control of a local shopkeeper (Sophie Marceau) and sets out to reclaim his lost treasures from the museum's collection of artifacts. The police are baffled until a retired detective remembers a similar incident decades ago, a plot device that enables this remake to incorporate clips from the original 1965 miniseries.
