Benched
(2005)|
Noted documentary filmmaker Wayne Ewing (Breakfast with Hunter) tells the story of how big business poured money into a judicial campaign in the name of so-called tort reform. Following the 2004 race for an Illinois Supreme Court seat, on-screen correspondent Paul Johnson reveals that tort reform -- that is, placing caps on judicial awards in cases involving medical malpractice, corporate wrongdoing and so on -- was the underlying issue.
