American composer, conductor and musical genius Leonard Bernstein conducts the Vienna Philharmonic in performances of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphonies no. 3, no. 4 and no. 5, providing a personal introduction to each of these classic compositions. Also known as "Eroica," Italian for "heroic," Symphony no. 3 was originally intended to be dedicated to French military and political leader Napoleon Bonaparte.
