Sahira Abdel-Karim (Mirelly Taylor) is a young Egyptian-American woman living with her family in Southern California. Torn between two cultures, Sahira struggles to balance honoring her traditional and oppressive Muslim father (Wadie Andrawis) and pursuing her Westernized dream of becoming a doctor and living a modern, secular life. Director Varun Khanna's raw and disturbing character study presents an intimate and relevant clash of cultures.
