Christian Slater, Martin Sheen, Robert Foxworth and Sharon Stone star in this drama about a troubled teenager (Slater) who finally meets his hero, an astronaut (Martin Sheen) past his prime, and realizes he's but a shell of his former glorious self. Over time, they recognize that they share many things -- including a fear of failure and an inability to trust -- and their friendship saves both of them in ways they never predicted.
