Reporter Steve Banks (Robert Armstrong), a regular at the local speakeasy, discovers that behind the place's illegal booze biz lurks a thriving narcotics ring. But Banks's hunger to break the story brings dangerous new enemies out of the woodwork. When they set him up for the murder of his editor, Banks must fight his own reputation as a violent drunk to prove his innocence and get the truth out. Carole Lombard co-stars.
