When translator Zhao (Liu Zifeng) signs off on a letter than contains the phrase "black cannon" -- a term that's mistaken to mean a lethal weapon when it in fact refers to a common chess piece -- he's demoted and forced to watch an inept worker take his place. Can he wade through a system of imposing checks and balances to prove that he wasn't in the wrong? Huang Jianxin directs this foreign-language drama.
