Black Fox

  (1963)
Tracing the historical events that made Adolf Hitler's rise to power possible, this documentary program (released less than 20 years after the end of World War II) paints a revealing portrait of one of the world's most notorious villains. The film's title is based in part on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's adaptation of the 12th century folktale "Reynard the Fox," in which the animal's charisma helps him talk his way out of trouble.
