Based on actual incidents in the Congo, a revolutionary leader is betrayed by one of his followers and unwittingly martyred by those in power. Strode, the African leader of a popular revolutionary movement, works secretly to overthrow a colonial government only to receive the "kiss of death" from one of his most trusted followers.
