This semi-improvised ensemble drama unfolds on the streets of New York City, where a documentary filmmaker (Brooke Shields) and her husband (Robert Downey Jr.) follow a group of privileged white teens who want to be part of the Harlem hip-hop scene. The Harlem crew includes a drug-dealing music mogul (Oliver "Power" Grant) and his friend, a gifted high school basketball player (Allan Houston) entangled with a crooked white cop (Ben Stiller).
