The history of America's most original music form -- the blues -- is explored in this documentary, which chronicles the 100-year-old, deeply felt genre through interviews and rare performance footage of legendary artists. A sense of the blues culture emerges through the melancholy-laced tunes of Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, B.B. King, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Ruth Brown, Buddy Guy and others, whose work still influences contemporary musicians.
