Eighteen-year-old Raj (Rishi Kapoor), the son of strict, wealthy parents, falls in love with Bobby (Dimple Kapadia), the daughter of a poor Christian fisherman. But before they can build a life together, Raj must overcome his parents' objections and win their approval.
